Stop juggling a dozen viewers

A file manager, a dozen viewers and a set of power tools — combined into one program that behaves like the Windows Explorer you already know.

Text, code & HTML viewer

Open TXT, HTML, MHT, SHTML, XML, INI and source files instantly, with a proper HTML render mode for web pages and MHT archives.

Image viewer

JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, ICO, WMF, TGA, PCX, WBMP, JP2, JPC, PGX, PNM, RAS, J2K and Adobe PSD — all without extra codecs.

Video & media player

Play AVI, MPG, WMV, ASF, MOV, MKV, WebM, MP4, VOB, RMVB and more, plus MP3, WAV, MIDI, FLAC, APE and other audio formats.

HEX, ASCII & DLL inspector

Switch any file between normal, ASCII and HEX mode. Read raw bytes, inspect DLL, OCX and AX exports, and debug binary formats.

Archive decompresser

Browse and extract ZIP, RAR, CAB, GZIP, JAR, TAR, BH, LHA, ZOO, ACE, ARC and ARJ archives without leaving the window.

Search, rename & convert

Search a whole disk for files, batch-rename by pattern, and convert WAV to MP3 — the everyday chores are built in.

How it works

Pick a file. Look at it. That's it.

FileSee keeps the navigation model you already know, so there is nothing new to learn.

Browse in the file list

Click any file in the left-hand tree, exactly like Windows Explorer. Use ← and → on the toolbar to step through a folder.

Switch display mode

Press N for normal rendering, A for ASCII and H for HEX. Same file, three different ways of looking at it.

Play, extract or convert

Media starts playing on selection, archives open in place, and Tools → Search files in disk finds anything on your drives.

Supported formats

130+ extensions, one viewer

From plain text to Blu-ray streams — if Windows can store it, FileSee can almost certainly show it.

The groups above show the main families; the full list in the program also covers WPL/WMX/WMD/WMZ/WAX/WVX playlist variants, DVR-MS, TPS, HDMOV, OFR/OFS and more. If a file refuses to open, it is almost always a missing codec rather than a missing feature — see the FAQ for the free K-Lite Codec Pack links.
